Capacity-Building & Service Delivery Network for Mental Health & Social Welfare Professionals to Provide Psycho-SocioEconomic Support for PLHIV in the Philippines
The project’s objectives are twofold: capacity-building of mental health and social welfare professionals and integrating PsySE services into the existing HIV care programs in the Philippines.
A. Capacity-Building of Mental Health and Social Welfare Professionals:
- Increase the level of awareness of mental health and social welfare professionals
regarding the existing strategies in HIV Care Cascade in the Philippines, with emphasis on
the 7th Edition of the Philippine AIDS Medium Term Plan (AMTP-7) and DOH guidelines on
HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support. - Improve the level of knowledge of mental health and social welfare professionals of the
basics of HIV primary care, legal frameworks of HIV in the Philippines, and strategies on HIV-related stigma reduction and discrimination elimination. - Enhance the level of self-efficacy among mental health and social welfare professionals in
providing basic HIV primary care within the scope of their professional competencies and
responsibilities.
B. Integrating Psycho-socioeconomic (PSE) Services into the Existing HIV Care Programs in the Philippines:
- Create and strengthen the HIV Service Delivery Network (SDN) among mental health and social welfare professionals in the Philippines.
- Revisit existing policies and guidelines on psycho-socioeconomic services in the Philippines and develop strategies to integrate these services into the existing HIV programs.
- Evaluate the implementation of PSE services in respective localities of mental health and social welfare professionals.
